Young Soles Goes To The Kids Club For Autumn Winter 2018

Young Soles, the award-winning luxury children’s footwear brand, is pleased to announce that its AW18 range is now available on the high street and online.

The Young Soles AW18 collection continues the theme of evoking childhood memories, staying true to its brand ethos of bringing British heritage and contemporary styling to children’s shoes. A Drapers Footwear Awards 2018 finalist, Young Soles continues to be recognised as one of the most exciting children’s footwear brands on the market.

For the AW18 season, Young Soles Founder Louise Shill has re-visited her early years to capture the cultural heritage of the British Working Men’s Club, while a touch of new wave, post-punk styling adds a contemporary twist that aligns the look with the current 80’s and 90’s fashion revival.

Recalling her own experiences from the time, Lou comments, “I remember being dragged down ‘the Club’ in my Sunday best while Mum and Dad enjoyed a knees-up for a special occasion. The venue for this shoot brought those memories rushing back to me. From the retro architecture and opulent velvet curtains to the tiled floors and banqueting chairs – I felt like I was eight years old again.”

Influenced at the time by the rise of post-punk bands such as Siouxsie and the Banshees,  and Joy Division, she adds, “All the kids used to mess around with their look, trying to out-cool each other. I’d team my best party-dress with something more adventurous or arty in an attempt to adopt that avant-garde.”
